A huge congratulations to our Year 5 and 6 pupils who took part in this week's Thurrock wide Sumdog Mathematics competition. Year 6 won first place and Year 5 came second!
Year 4 and 5 have been extremely busy preparing for the amazing Midsummer Night’s Dream production. Whilst rehearsals have been taking place, artists have been working hard painting an enormous image of the scene where Puck crouches down right next to Titania who is sleeping and pours the purple juice from the flower into her eye. In maths, we have been learning how to multiply two, three and four digit numbers. We have been taught how to calculate the answer using long multiplication. The main reason why we are learning this is because it helps us in life it is an essential skill used every day. For example, if you were to go to the shops and purchase four packets of sweets. The most obvious calculation would be to multiply them together to work out how much it would cost for all four.
East Tilbury Primary School is a busy place. There are always various activities, events and days being planned within the school and the community. Teachers will be providing you with updates about what's been going on in each year group. Feel free to provide positive feedback on the posts.
