In 3SH, we have enjoyed creating our own non-chronological extreme weather reports. Once we had extended our writing skills, we then became lighting and sound technicians, camera crew and presenters in order to record our work using our new green screen equipment. We had lots of fun understanding and using the equipment and we are looking forward to editing our recordings!
PE has had a great start to the new academic year and it’s only going to get better.
All classes are currently taking part in a gymnastics or dance lessons as well as a ball skills/ invasion games lesson during the autumn term. Please ensure your child has their winter PE kit in school, as lessons will go on outside. Extracurricular sports clubs have been very popular during lunchtimes and after school, we currently are offering basketball, dodgeball, football, rugby, badminton, indoor athletics and cross country. Some of these clubs will change after Christmas so keep an eye out for the new clubs list coming soon.
Competitions are already in full swing and so far we have competed in the borough at cross country where our teams placed very highly throughout, basketball where we placed 2nd, football, rugby and netball league games are also under way with some good results popping up. Details of all competitions and fixtures can be found on the schools website under Healthy Schools and Clubs page.
Following on from last academic year’s sporting success which finished in July. East Tilbury Primary School and Nursery had confirmation in September that we had been awarded with the School Games Silver kitemark award. This award recognises what we do as a school and celebrates our success and achievement.
We have taken part in our first whole school inter house competition in October. The first competitions is always cross country to get us set up ready for districts in November. 1st place in this inter house went to Cambridge. The next inter house competition will be football which is coming soon after the Christmas holidays.
