PE lessons will continue to take place outdoors throughout the winter term, so please ensure your child has enough warm clothing and a change of socks in their PE bags.
We’ve competed in 6 Thurrock Schools Sports Partnership competitions so far this year and completed our first of 6 inter house competitions; cross country. Those children who placed in the top 6 then went on to represent our school in the Thurrock Schools cross country competition. We had great success individually with 4 top 10 runners now qualified to compete in the Essex schools cross country competition later on this academic year. The team results were as follows-
Year 3 girls- 6th place
Year 3 boys- 9th place
Year 4 girls- 10th place
Year 4 boys- 8th place
Year 5 girls- 11th place
Year 5 boys- 10th place
Year 6 girls- 8th place
Year 6 boys- 6th place
The year 5/6 boy’s football team placed 3rd place in the group stages of the Thurrock school's tournament with over 20 schools taking part. A huge well done to all involved!
The year 3/4 mixed football team placed 2nd overall. Again, over 20 schools competed, so this was a brilliant achievement. Mrs Russo is now organising another year 3 and 4 tournament within the borough, for more children to compete.
The year 5/6 girl’s netball team won all of their games at the start of season rally, so their future is set to be a competitive and successful one once again this year. Credit to Ms Coldwells and Mrs Thompson for their coaching.
The year 5/6 mixed tag rugby team placed 3rd in their group stage of the Thurrock schools tag rugby tournament. A brilliant result for the team.
Once again, the sports calendar is full of competitive and non-competitive events throughout the year. Keep an eye out on the newsletter, twitter and the school’s website to stay up to date on all sporting success and news.
If your child experiences any other sporting success outside of school, we’d love to hear about it and share their achievements in school.
