As with the birth of any new born, Year 2 have welcomed many visitors from across the school to see the new arrivals and they have all left with new knowledge about eggs and chickens.
Year 2 have been patiently waiting for several weeks, first for the delivery of their eggs, then for the arrival of their chicks. During Science Week last term, Year 2 prepared to receive their eggs, learning about life cycles and what chicks would need to survive and grow healthily. When the eggs arrived on Tuesday, they were well-prepared and set the incubator up in a special place. They have kept a log of the date and time of the birth of each chick, recording this information in a table. They agree that the best things come to those who wait! As with the birth of any new born, Year 2 have welcomed many visitors from across the school to see the new arrivals and they have all left with new knowledge about eggs and chickens.
