Year 6 is so different but so much fun! Today we have all done mock tests for our maths and reading SATs, it was a bit tricky but luckily our kind teachers were there to help.
On Thursday afternoon we had a science lesson and made shadows – it was very interesting to learn, personally I love science!
In English we have learnt how to use colons and semi-colons correctly.
So far in Year six it has been good but extremely different to other years. We have a section in the playground for year sixes only. In class we have a table for two only and they are all facing the front. Our teachers are very kind and help us whenever we need help. We have done various lessons already, such as Maths, English, Art, French and many more; they have all been interesting.
The start of this school year has been different to other years but it has been a great experience so far. This week our teachers have been testing our abilities to see what levels we are working at using the 2018 SATs papers.
Being in Year 6 has been slightly different to what we expected before Lockdown. This week we’ve done an experiment on how to change the size of shadows, a couple of tests and a lesson on equivalent fractions. We also earn Lego©, Golden Buzzers and Dojos from time to time. This week we held a two-minute silence but this time we couldn’t go to the Memorial outside school. Overall, year 6 has been a journey of ups and downs and I hope to see more of them.
Year 6 is a bit weird this this year! On the playground we have barriers to show where we can and can’t go and there are restrictions around the school. This week in science we have completed an investigation and learnt that the closer an object is to the light source the bigger the shadow will be.
In English we have been doing grammar and poetry, in French we have been writing sentences about what we do and do not like doing. Year 6 is different this year because we have our own playground and we eat lunch in class.
Year 6 has been wonderful. We have done lots of fun things, especially when we have been investigating light; we noticed that if you move the object nearer to the light source its shadow gets bigger. I love learning about WW2, it is fascinating! I love learning.
On Wednesday we did a 2 minute silence for Remembrance Day. In English we learnt about semi-colons and in science we learnt about light and its shadows. On Thursday we also did a SATs Reasoning Maths test and a SATs Reading Comprehension test.
