Administrative Assistant to SENCO

27 hours 30 minutes per week 
Monday – Friday 9:00am – 3:00pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break

Osborne Co-operative Academy Trust wishes to appoint a highly organised, efficient, and enthusiastic person to provide highly effective and systematic administrative support to our SENCo. You will be helping to promote excellent progress for our students by delivering professional and efficient support to the SENCo. The ability to be pro-active, flexible, adaptable, and organised is essential. 
If you are a motivated individual with the ability to be a team player and show initiative, we would like to hear from you. 
 
You will need: 
  • excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask 
  • an ability to work with excellent accuracy, detail and a highly systemic approach 
  • high standards of verbal and written communication

  • Good ICT skills including MS Excel & Word 
  • a good level of general education to include GCSE maths and English (grade A-C) or equivalent 
Responsibilities include: 
  • providing a first class administrative support to the SENCo 
  • distributing the reports / care plans to teachers and outside agencies 
  • being a key contact point within the department for staff, students, parents and outside agencies 
  • working with the SENCo to ensure SEND record keeping is accurate and up to date 
  • assist in applications for Education and Health Care Plans 
Previous school experience and a knowledge of SIMS, word and excel would be an advantage.

We are looking to recruit a Midday Assistant to join our busy team. MDAs create a very positive, happy, and secure environment in our playgrounds, dining hall and the school building at lunchtime. Your primary role will be to maintain the safety, welfare, and good conduct of pupils during the lunchtime break. 
 
The successful applicants will: 
 
  • Interact with the children to encourage good social skills and will lead outdoor activities to encourage participation
  • Encourage healthy eating, preparing the tables, supervise playing with the children outside, supervising the clearing up of games and toys, administering first aid and using the school’s behaviour plan 
  • Ensure the safety and care of pupils who are injured or unwell & provide comfort if distressed 
  • Assist children with Personal Care where necessary

We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant with excellent behaviour management skills to take on a crucial role within our school. The successful candidate should be familiar with SEMH and have previous experience of working with vulnerable children. They will possess the ability to make quick decisions and be a team player. The successful candidate will enable pupils with additional needs, including behaviour, to access learning through assisting them in understanding and managing their behaviour to enable them to become successful learners.
