On 20.09.16 we were treated to a visit from Thurrock Catering services to teach us all about healthy, responsible eating whilst having fun at the same time.
Darren Tinkler from "Roots to Food" delivered an informative assembly where we learnt about different food groups and their nutritional content. This was followed by a very "heated" and competitive battle between Mr Palser and Mr Gregory to see who could be the most creative with a selection of ingredient s and a time limit of 15 minutes to deliver a tasty, healthy and nutritious dish. The winner would be decided by selected members of the audience based on taste and appearance. Who was crowned "ETPS Best Chef 2016?" Watch the video and find out!
In the afternoon, Key Stage One and Early Years had workshops on fun, fitness and food and they also had the opportunity to sample a smoothie. The aim of the day was to focus on healthy eating and keeping fit, I am sure the children had great fun taking part. Many thanks to Jenny Pittam and Judith Smith from Thurrock Catering Services and also Darren from Roots to Food.
